B. Tech in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

Instrumentation engineering is one of the complicated but sophisticated branches of engineering discipline which may be studied as a separate branch or along with electronics engineering. The study mainly focuses on the design, configuration and automated systems. The professionals who are involved in these activities are known as instrumentation engineers. Instrumentation Engineers help in the designing, construction and maintenance of instruments and entire instrumentation systems of an industrial undertaking. An instrumentation engineer decides the type of instruments needed for ensuring better quality and efficiency of the end product.

Job Prospects & Career Option:

Instrumentation engineers work for industries with automated processes, such as chemical or manufacturing plants, with the goal of improving system productivity, reliability, safety, optimization and stability. They find jobs in various sectors including R&D units of public and private sector companies, heavy industries such as thermal power stations, steel plants, refineries, cement and fertilizer plants etc. They also find jobs in companies manufacturing specialized instruments as well as in the user industries themselves, both in public as well as private sectors. They are also required by the Heavy industries such as Thermal Power Stations, Steel Plants, Refineries, and Cement and Fertilizer Plants. They have a multidisciplinary role to play. One may choose to move sideways into other career areas either within or outside their industry.

Eligibility:

Admissions to any of our programmes offered are strictly following the guidance of West Bengal University of Technology. Aspiring students can submit the duly filled Application Form. Admissions will be through the relevant Admission Committee. All candidates should have a valid rank of WBJEE / AIEEE and allotted a seat through Central Selection Counseling. Students allotted a seat has to take admission within a stipulated time notified by the college authorities at the time of Counseling & allotment..
