So you want to be sure you will find a place to live that is clean, comfortable, safe, not too expensive and within easy reach of all your activities. And you'll want to be with other students who share the same lifestyle as your own. The design of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology is very student centric.
The Campus has dedicated study facilities designed to meet the needs of all students, and there are more and more 'relaxation and chill-out' spaces springing up around campus to ensure that your time at any our Campus isn't all study, study, study! As a learning community with its sights set on the future, and a team of academic staff who are experts in their fields, at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, we don't just lecture - we stimulate dialogue.
Learning Tools
At Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, we engage students in the learning process through a different pedagogy with a mix of latest learning resources and traditional teaching modules. We are investing a lot to create an environment where you can use any learning tool to study. Pursuing higher education, the way you are both taught and learn changes significantly from your school experience. With us, you are expected to take a more active role in managing your learning, as more of your time will be spent undertaking different forms of research to help you discover solutions and answers for yourself under the watchful eyes of our teaching staff.
Labs
Guru Nanak Institute of Technology has several specialty labs and workshops providing students to work on cutting edge technology. There are required sufficient specialized labs and workshops – technical, medical, hospitality and telecommunication – making us one of the best practically equipped educational institution.
Language Labs
English communication skill is must for a successful career. Higher Study books as well as communication at university / college / office generally takes place in English. Most of the students' mother tongue is not English & many of them have not studied in English medium school. Irrespective of the above facts our Language Lab emphasizes on attaining proficiency in English for all our students. Training in English language is one of the utmost priorities for overall development of our student's quality. The teaching and learning of English involves a variety of language activities in reading, writing, speaking & listening. The English training programme develops both General & Academic English language skills. We have developed our unique Language Development Lab to prepare our students for a global career so that they can communicate with confidence
Teaching Tools
Guru Nanak Institute of Technology is abundant with state-of-the-art equipments for lecture delivery like DLP projectors, language labs etc. Now an ambitions project of linking all the campuses through internet backbone and VOIP facility is being implemented. This will enable students attend class through video conferencing
Library
At Guru Nanak Institute of Technology we always believe a library is the repository of knowledge. The information revolution means that escalating amounts of information are available to you for learning. To study you will use a mixture of printed books, journals and electronic materials. To get the right reference materials you can take the guidance from the experienced library staff. There are huge number of books and journals in the library for students' reference. In addition there are more than hundred e-journals and magazines for students to get updated information. The Guru Nanak Institute of Technology library is also institutional members of British Council Library. Our Library is also a member of the Indian National Library in Engineering Science and Technology (INDEST) which is managed by IIT- Delhi. Consequently, the faculty, staff and students get access to more than 200 on-line journals, magazines of IEEE and IEE. The Library is fully automated with LIBSYS facility.
'Book Bank' facility is provided to students of several streams in lieu of which the students get some basic text book to be used by them for a semester. Members of book bank are issued four text books for the entire semester period. Book Bank members are also allowed to use Central Library as regular students.
Information Services
All graduate students today need to use computers and networks as part of their work, whether to write essays, to run applications, to access information on the Web or to exchange e-mails with tutors and fellow students. Once registered at any of our college campus, your college ID card would not only get you through the door, but is also your key to the whole campus network which includes access to internet, email, and quality printing facilities. On over 615 open access computers students have full access to the software applications – the basics and subject specific, computer based training, the information database and websites that you need as well as cost-effective high quality printing essential for excellent assignment production and delivery – using current software. Further, IT facilities throughout the campus are maintained in the faculties' computer and are focused on the needs of the students.
We are now developing a network – Student Central, the student intranet, which aims to provide interactive on-line course materials and library access, personalized home pages, open discussion boards and email. One of the key on-line services to support postgraduate study at the university is the on-line library.
There is wide range of software available; this includes the standard Microsoft Office productivity suite, DBMS packages, bibliographic, quantitative and qu1alitative analysis software and a range of specialist subject specific tools.
