Dr. Sisir K Das obtained B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D Degree from Calcutta University, IIT Kharagpur and Anna University, respectively. He started his carrier as teaching and research faculty in Delhi University in 1977 and join Min. of com. & IT, Gov. of India as scientist in 1980. As head of EMC Dr. Das led EMC evaluation and Design of Electronics Products manufactured by the Industry meeting International Standards and Electromagnetics Research Projects in the country and abroad for 28 years. He conducts numerous EMC and high speed/frequency training programmes for Engineers in the Industry and Educational Institutions. Conducted numerous classes at large number of Engg. Colleges as Guest faculty. Presently he is Dean- Research and Administration at Gurunanak Institute of technology, Kolkata since August 2008.
He worked at National Institute of Standards and Technology, US Department of Commerce, USA for 3 months (July – October ' 91) as Research fellow under UNDP Programme. Visited several R&D Institutions and Industries in USA, Japan, South Korea for technical interaction / Collaboration Programmes.
He is co-author of Engg. Text book "Microwave Engg." jointly with his wife Prof. Dr. Annapurna Das, Anna University, published by Mc-Graw Hill, USA, Singapore and India. He has written three chapters in the Book "Engineering EMC", Published by IEEE Press. He has nearly 80 research publications in journals and conference proceedings.
Dr. Das 's professional qualifications are:
(1) Associate editor for IEEE EMC Journal, USA (1994 – 2000)
(2) Chief editor of EMC Journal of Society of EMC Engineers(2004-2007)
(3) Senior member of IEEE
(4) Life member of Society of EMC Engineers (India)
(5) Manager of ISO 9001 & NABL 17025 Quality Systems (1998-2004)
Dr Das received Society of EMC Engineers (India) highest award 2002 in recognition of his contribution to the EMI/EMC Solutions for Indian Industrial Products and Silver medal awarded for contribution to the workshop "SAMEER 2001 and Beyond", organized by DoE / SAMEER in 1995.
