Debate competition For Students January 21, 2009

Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology Conducted a "DEBATE COMPETITION" for all Students all of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology on January 21st, 2009 in the PPT Hall, where total 66 students participated in the count of 22 Groups, i.e., 3 members in a group. The Debate competition continued for 3 different round and ended with a winner team. However, the Winner Team and the Runner-up Team were awarded by a Prize and Certificates. However, each participant was given a corresponding Participation Certificate.

Quiz competition For students January 21, 2009

Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology Conducted a "QUIZ COMPETITION" for all Students all of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology on January 21st, 2009 in the PPT Hall, where total 60 students participated in the count of 20 Groups, i.e., 3 members in a group. The Quiz competition continued for several interesting rounds and ended with a winner and a runner-up team. The Winner Team and the Runner-up Team were awarded by Prize and Certificates. However, each participant was given a corresponding Participation Certificate.

Gnit faculty summit 2009 14th February 2009

To motivate the Teaching community of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, the management took a very encouraging decision of conducting the GNIT Faculty Summit 2009, which was held at the PPT Hall on 14th Feb 2009. In this programme, all the Faculty members who have published Research Papers in the year 2009, in National and/or International level were appreciated and thereafter awarded by a Research Contributory Certificate. The PhD awarded Teached were appreciated and awarded by a valuable Mementos. Overall, the programme was very good and motivating. Evrybody enjoyed the programme and its contents and instinct.

Seminar on Emerging trends of science & technologies in modern world 22 June, 2009

Department of Computer Science & Engineering in association with Research & Development Cell of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology Conducted a Full day SEMINAR on "Emerging Trends of Science & Technologies in Modern World" on June 22nd , 2009. Seminar was scheduled for a full day where Faculty members from all the departments participated and interestingly, 10 number of Speakers from different discipline presented their relevant research topics to make the Seminar more attractive and interactive. Around 76 participants, including the Faculty members, Technical Assistants and Administrative Staff members registered in the Seminar and participated. Each individual Speaker was awarded a Certificate of "Resource Person" along with a small token of gift. Refreshment was provided to each participant during the seminar. The overall feedback of the Seminar was good

Debate competition For gnit employees June 24th , 2009

Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology Conducted a "DEBATE COMPETITION" for all the Employees of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology on June 24th, 2009 in the Seminar Hall -I and the topic of the Debate was "Privatization in Education System". Faculty members, JTAs from different branches and also the Office Staff Members actively participated in the debate competition. The competition was composed of total 9 Teams where each Team constituted by 3 members. The Judge was hired from JIS Engineering college. With a tough and interesting arguments, ultimately one group from Basic Science won the 1st prize and Dept. of CSE won the Runner-Up award. Mementos of GNIT were given to each individual winner and Certificated were given to winner, runner and each participant. The Debate competition was conducted in the midst of a huge crowd of all GNIT employees and everybody enjoyed to the full extent.

Workshop on Computer Hardware, Networking and Machine Handling For Technical Staff Members (jtas) June 23 - 27, 2009

Till date, we have organized several Faculty Development Programmes through Seminars, Tutorials, Workshops and alike, but unfortunately, till date, no such development programmes had been conducted for JTAs and other staff members at GNIT. Therefore, keeping the eye on the everyday usage of Computers, Computer Peripherals and Computer Networking, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering took the initiative to conduct a Technical Staff Development Programme in the name of "Workshop on Computer Hardware, Networking and Machine Handling", exclusively for the Technical Staff members (JTAs) of GNIT, from 23rd June 2009 to 27th June 2009 (5 Days, 6 hours per day), where all the Technical Staff members (JTAs) from all Departments and also the office staff members participated. The Registration Fee was nominal and was Rs. 100/- (One hundred only). All the other expenses was willingly borne by our Management. The main objective of the Workshop was to make the JTAs acquainted with the real-life problems and their corresponding troubleshooting, through this Practical oriented Workshop, which would be very much beneficial for them for their day-to-day activities. Total 30 participant registered to attend the 5 –Day Workshop and Senior Professor including the Principal and HODs, conducted the theory and practical sessions, which was very much interactive. At the end of the workshop, each participant was given a Participation Certificate. The Speakers were given a Certificate of Resource Person alongwith a handsome remuneration. The feedback of the Workshop was very good.

R & D Cell of GNIT organized a National Conference on Ubiquitous Computing 2009 during Sept. 22-23, 2009 at the Institute. The computer and network society of the 21st century makes computers perfectly blend in people's everyday life. Ubiquitous is the premier outlet for novel research contributions that advance the state of the art in the design, development, deployment, evaluation and understanding of ubiquitous computing systems. It is an interdisciplinary field of research and development that utilizes and integrates pervasive, wireless, embedded, wearable and/or mobile technologies to bridge the gaps between the digital and physical worlds. Given its multi-disciplinary nature Key audience communities are: Human Computer Interaction, Pervasive Computing, Distributed and Mobile Computing, Real World Modeling, Sensors and Devices, Middleware and Systems research, Programming Models and Tools, and Human Centric Validation and Experience Characterization, Intelligent Systems, Wireless Systems, EMI/EMC, Signal Integrity and allied fields. The Ubiquitous Computing 2009 program features keynotes, technical paper sessions, and specialized tutorials by expert in the country.
